Outstanding Secondary School Tours to Iceland
About this tour
Iceland often referred to as the ‘land of Fire and Ice’ is home to some of Europe’s most active volcanoes and the Vatnajökull one Europe’s largest glaciers. It is therefore no surprise it is one of the most popular destinations for geography trips due to the rich number of geological features. A trip can cover many physical and human geography subject areas with a variety of visits. A visit to the Geothermal exhibition at the Hellisheioi Geothermal Plant is a fantastic opportunity to educate students on the topic area of the environment and how it affects the local population as 100% of Iceland’s energy comes from renewable resources. A hike on the Solheimajokull glacier will allow students to see how glaciation has helped carve the countries terrain and the effects global warming is having on the glaciers.
