• De Markthal[A C L G]: 100 fresh food stands, shops and restaurants all encased in a spectacular giant arch designed by Dutch architects MVRDV. Combined with the massive artwork across the ceiling, De Markthal has been described as the Dutch Sistine Chapel and is well worth a visit.
• Het Nieuwe Instituut [A C G H Sc G]: This institute is part of the School of Architecture and will organise seminars on any subject. They also display innovations in design and architecture, along with e-culture.
• Boijmans Van Beuningen Museum [A C L G]: Named after two benefactors of the city who gave their art collections for public enjoyment in the 10th century, this is the oldest museum in Rotterdam, dating from 1849. The collections range from the Middle Ages to the twenty-first century and include works by Bosch, Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Dali and many more.
• SS Rotterdam [C H Sc G]: As Europe’s largest port, Rotterdam was also a port for transatlantic liners. The SS Rotterdam is now berthed in the city and serves as a hotel but can be visited for insight into life on board a luxury liner.

However, they are well used to catering for groups of young people in what is now a three-star hotel. It has a fantastic location on the waterfront overlooking the iconic Erasmus Bridge, all rooms are en suite and there is an excellent restaurant with plenty of space to meet and relax.
• Stayokay: The Dutch Youth Hostel Association has the privilege of operating inside the architecturally unique Cube Houses directly next to the old harbour. With the usual high standard of Dutch hostels and en suite rooms, the hostel in this building will fascinate all your students.
