About this tour
Brussels has a long History with the arts and some fabulous Theatres. Close by in Antwerp is the Bourla Theatre – the last remaining theatre in Europe with its original stage machinery dating back to 1834.
All of our performance tours are created from scratch. The reason for this is that many schools require a combination of performances, perhaps a choir plus a band and maybe even a little Jazz. So venues are carefully chosen to mix and match your tour to suit all requirements.
Accommodation
As in most large cities, the accommodation you choose will depend on your choice of style and location.
- Hotels: We can offer a range of two- and three-star hotels around the Brussels area ( usually Ibis Hotels ) Most are in the suburbs as central hotels tend to blow student budgets. All have buffet breakfast and most offer an evening meal for groups.
- Youth Centers: These are available both in and around the city. Students will meet with other groups in these centers. Within the city, most youth centers require that you return for your evening meal.
Sample Itinerary
We offer different types of Drama tours in all destinations, below shows a simple 3 night tour to Belgium.
Day 1
Travel via coach and ferry to Belgium and check into your chosen accommodation.
Evening meal in a local restaurant or hotel.
Day 2
Morning excursion to Antwerp to visit the Bourla Theatre with a backstage tour.
Afternoon return to Brussels via the Atomium and Heysel area.
Evening meal at the hostel or in Brussels
Evening theatre visit to one of the smaller productions by (for example) The Irish Theatre company or The American Theatre company – depending on suitability of show and who is performing during your stay.
Day 3
Morning guided Tintin tour including entrance to the Herge Museum.
Afternoon chocolate visit and free time on the Grand Place
Dinner at the hostel
Evening show at the Ryal Puppet Theatre Toone
Day 4
Depart Brussels for Calais.
Return home via the ferry late afternoon
