Lanzarote is the fourth largest of the Canary Islands and a UNESCO biosphere reserve. It is well known for its year-round warm weather – average annual temperature of 22° degrees, beaches, and volcanic landscape.

Lanzarote can be reached by flights from many different airports within the UK and tours are from 4 to 5 days on average.
A suggested 4-day itinerary might look like this:
To help you plan your tour we offer you the following:
- Day 1: Flight to Lanzarote, transfer to accommodation and free time to explore the area or enjoy the swimming pool at the accommodation.
- Day 2: Enjoy a full day excursion to the South: Timanfaya National Park, El Golfo, Green Lagoon, Los Hervideros and Salinas de Janubio. Optional lunch meal in a local restaurant.
- Day 3: Full day excursion exploring the Geographical Gems of the North: César Manrique House Museum, Jameos del Agua, Volcano House, Mirador de Guinate and Cueva de los Verdes (Green Caves). Optional lunch meal in a local restaurant.
- Day 4: Spend the morning on the beach or get on the Submarine Safari before flying back home.

- Los Hervideros[C G G]: Los Hervideros (‘the boiling ones’) is an impressive rugged volcanic coastline with crashing waves and intriguing blowholes. The volcanic morphology appears along the coastline in highly interesting geological formations.
- Salinas de Janubio[C G Sc G]: Salinas de Janubio are salt flats of 9 Laid out in a geometric pattern, with each of the salt pans showing a different colour depending on the amount of water in it, the Salinas could be mistaken as an intentionally created enormous piece of art. kilometres (5.6 mi).
- César Manrique House Museum [A C G]: Cesar Manrique was a painter, architect, and sculptor, who made the island the most beautiful of all. The César Manrique House Museum is in a handsome palm grove in the picturesque village of Haria, which still conserves many of Lanzarote’s traditions.
- Volcano House [A C G G]: César Manrique Foundation has its headquarters in this spectacular dwelling. This building, constructed on five volcanic bubbles, since converted into rooms, is an example of the artist’s own style of architecture. Students are guaranteed a unique experience in this house built in a sea of lava.
- Jameos del Agua [A C G G]: A volcanic cave where it is impossible not to be affected by the quiet, almost magical atmosphere. Its natural lake, within the cave itself, is slightly illuminated by the sun and is home to an albino crab, unique in the world. Created by César Manrique, los Jameos del Agua brings together two aspects, respect for the habitat of the tiny crabs and cultural activities.
- Timanfaya National Park [C G G]: The Fire Mountains of Lanzarote is a land of volcanoes included in The UNESCO Network of Biosphere Reserves. Different volcanic eruptions and magmatic activity throughout history turned this land into what we see today. Features include craters, volcanic cones, domes, lava flows and geothermal activity.
- Cueva de los Verdes (Green Caves) [A C G P G]: Cueva de los Verdes is part of a 6km-long volcanic tube formed some 21,000 years ago during the eruptions of the nearby La Corona Volcano in Lanzarote. It is a unique mythological-looking cave, full of legends and extraordinary landscape and beauty. As you go into the volcanic cave, it is inevitable to feel that you are going down into another world!
- El Golfo Fishing Village [C G L G]: El Golfo is a small fishing village with a beach of black sand inside half of a round volcanic crater (the other half of which has been eroded by the sea). It is surrounded by the spectacular lavas of the 1730-1736 eruptions!
- Charco de los Clicos (Green Lagoon) [C G L G]: The Green Lagoon, located 100 metres from El Golfo, is a very contrasting landscape where you can see a lagoon inside a volcano crater! It produces a magnificent variety of colours depending on the position of the sun.

The Cactus Garden

The Cactus Garden is in the north of Lanzarote and brings together more than 1,400 species of cacti from all over the world. It is also one of the keys to the architectural work of César Manrique. It is a garden built in the shape of an amphitheatre!
Mirador del Río

The best view of the island of La Graciosa, el Río viewpoint, in the north of Lanzarote, is a work of art located at the top of an imposing cliff. Alternatively, visit Mirador del Guinate which offers the same viewpoint!
Submarine Safari

The Submarine Safari enables everyone to enjoy the wonders of the undersea world. An underwater experience of a lifetime!
Camel Ride

What could be more breath-taking than riding a camel through a terrain that resembles a lunar landscape? You would travel past a spectacular expanse of dead volcanoes, craters and canyons formed by eruptions over 300 years ago.
La Graciosa excursion

Take the 30 min ferry to the gorgeous island of La Graciosa, where the students will explore unspoilt sandy beaches and will not see tarmac roads. This small island is part of the protected UNESCO national park, ‘Parque natural del Archipiélago Chinijo.’ It is a destination worth protecting and visiting!
