North Wales
About this tour
North Wales renowned for its picturesque landscapes and home to the Snowdonia national park. In the national park you will also find the highest mountain in Wales, mount Snowdon.
The area is great for covering a variety of subject areas from learning about science at the Centre for Alternative Technology which has exhibits about sustainable energy, to venturing into the past and learning about Welsh history with a visit to one of the many castles such as Caernarfon Castle, Powis Castle and Conwy Castle.
Spend the afternoon ascending Mount Snowdon on the Snowdon Mountain Railway which travels from Llanberis to the summit of the mountain with some stunning views of the national park below.

Sample Itinerary
Day One
- Pick up at school and depart by coach and travel to North Wales
- Comfort stops en route.
- Lunch–own arrangements – bring packed lunches.
- En-route visit Wroxeter Roman City.
- Check into the hostel/hotel.
- Evening meal is included.
- Possible evening walk to discover the surrounding area.
Day Two
- Breakfast and collect packed lunches.
- Depart for visit to Snowdon.
- Return trip on the Snowdown Railway
- Visit Electric Mountain
- Evening meal back at the hotel
Day Three
- Breakfast and collect packed lunches.
- Check out, load coach, and depart.
- Morning visit to the Llanberis Slate Caverns
- Afternoon visit to Caernarfon Castle
- Arrive back at the school early evening.
