About this tour
The historical city of Porto located in central Portugal. It is one of Europe’s oldest historical centres and is a UNESCO world heritage site. It is a great destination to learn about Portugal’s past with its rich selection of historical attractions to visit.
The city isn’t simply great for history; it’s rich in areas such as Art, Architecture and Religion, the perfect ingredients for a cultural trip. It is also on the edge of the famous Douro valley where you can go off and explore the port wineries which the area is world renowned for and marvel at the stunning landscapes it has to offer.

Sample Itinerary
We recommend a minimum 3-night, 4-day Itinerary. As we tailor make each itinerary, we can create an itinerary perfect for you from the length of the tour to the activities and visits.
- Day 1: Fly direct to Porto. The first visit of the trip is to Serralves Art Museum which houses a collection of contemporary art by Portuguese and international artists.
- Day 2: In the morning you will take a Guided tour of the city, this will include all the major landmarks and sights in the city and includes stops at Palacio da Bolsa, Igreja de Sao Francisco, Clerigos Tower and Porto Cathedral. In the afternoon you will take a river cruise on the River Douro and see the city from a unique perspective which includes a magnificent view of the Ponte de Dom Luis I bridge. After returning from the cruise, you will have free time to explore and experience more of the city.
- Day 3: Today you will have a full day coach excursion visiting the Douro Valley. The day will include visits to; A port winery where you will receive a tour to learn about the famous alcohol and its origins to the area, the ruins of Castle of Numão built during the medieval era, tours round the Vale do Coa Archaeological Park and the Museum in Vila Nova de Foz Coa. The last visit of the day is to Lamego where you will receive a guided tour of the city and then some free time to explore it for yourselves.
- Day 4: Depending on flight times, spend free time exploring the city or why not relax with a coffee in Ribeira Square.
