Venice, one of Italy’s art Capitals is full of historic works by Italian and International artists. It is also home to Murano Glass made on Murano Island where you can watch it been created and view an extensive collection of pieces.
The city itself can be considered an artwork with an intricate design of canals and floating buildings and architecture, it boasts amazing opportunities to sketch and inspire future artworks. It is not just historic art Venice has to offer, it also houses a collection Modern art works, at the Peggy Guggenheim collection which has artworks by prominent Italian Futurists and American Modernists.
Why not visit during Biennale Arte? An international art exhibition with artists from over 50 countries displaying their work. Sample Itinerary
We recommend a minimum 3-night, 4-day Itinerary. As we tailor make each itinerary, we can create an itinerary perfect for you from the length of the tour to the activities and visits.
- Day 1: Fly direct to Venice. To help familiarise yourself with the city start your tour with a hop on and off boat tour allowing you to view some of the city’s iconic sites such as Doge’s Palace.
- Day 2: In the morning visit the Peggy Guggenheim Collection which has collection of modern art which features artworks by prominent Italian Futurists and American Modernists. Then visit the Punta della Doganahome to one of largest collections of contemporary art in the world. In the afternoon visit the Ca’ d’Oro which houses a collection of artworks collected by Giorgio Franchetti, which are accompanied by a state collection which includes sculptures, bronzes and Venetian and Flemish paintings.
- Day 3: To start your day, visit the Gallerie dell’Accademia which houses a collection of Venetian masterpieces up to the 18th century. Then visit the Museo Correr which features a collection of art, documents and objects relating to the history of Venice. Later, visit the Artistic Murano Glass Gallery, experience a glass-blowing demonstration, and view the impressive pieces created.
- Day 4: Depending on flight times, in the morning visit the Ca’Macana a Venetian Carnevale mask shop, with the chance of a workshop to create your own.
