About this tour
The county of Devon located in Southwest England. Famed for its sandy beaches, fossil cliffs and glorious weather – part of the reason why the area is often referred to as the English Riviera. The beautiful county has a plethora of activities covering an array of topic areas.
Pupils can enhance their studies with visits such as exploring deep into Kent’s Cavern, be a pirate for the day at Dartmouth Castle or discover the marine or animal life at one of the aquariums or zoos.
Take your students on a journey back millions of years to the time of the dinosaurs. There are several activities related to the topic, from visiting the Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park which has animatronic dinosaurs, to fossil hunting on the coast with a local expert.

Sample Itinerary
Day One
- Pick up at school and depart by coach and travel to Devon.
- Comfort stops en route.
- Lunch – own arrangements – bring packed lunches.
- Have a stop at the Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth en-route.
- Check into the hostel/hotel.
- Evening meal is included.
Day Two
- Breakfast and collect packed lunches.
- Visit to Kents Cavern – explore this fabulous cave system.
- Visit the Model Village in Babbacombe and then have some time on the beach.
- Visit the House of Marbles on way back to the Hostel.
- Evening meal back at the hotel
- Evening guided walk on the moor studying nature.
Day Three
- Breakfast and collect packed lunches.
- Check out, load coach, and depart.
- Morning fossil hunting along Lyme Bay – could be with a guide.
- Depart after lunch and arrive back at school early evening.
