Krakow History Tour
About this tour
Krakow located in Southern Poland is an ideal tour destination for studying WWII, and particularly the Holocaust. Krakow had a thriving Jewish Community before it was devastated during Holocaust, the city now has several visits and memorials to remember and commemorate those killed.
One Heroic story your students can learn about is that of Oskar Schindler and his factory which is now a museum about him and the Krakow’s Jewish community. Krakow is the nearest major city next to the infamous Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp which we highly recommend as one of your visits as it is an incredibly powerful experience which will help your students grasp the magnitude and nature of the events which occurred.
The city presents the opportunity to learn about the Cold war with visits to museums about life under the Soviet Union and various other visits. A must visit is to the Socialist district of Nova huta where students will be able to observe the style and architecture of the buildings which are in the typical Renaissance style of the Soviets.
