Northumberland
About this tour
The county of Northumberland located in Northeast England and the northernmost county of England. Famed for its picturesque landscapes and grand architecture. The county has an abundance of activities and visits to do which cover a variety of topic areas.
Edged dramatically by the North Sea and four National Parks, the area offers much to those interested in history, natural history, industrial heritage, geography, conservation and ecology. Northumberland has witnessed many historical changes from the Roman invasion over 2000 years ago to Viking attacks and Anglo-Saxon Kings defending their kingdom to the death. We can also recommend any of the following castles for you to visit at Alnwick, Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh.
Why not take a day trip to the Lindisfarne also known as Holy Island. The small tidal island also has a castle you can visit detailing the history of the famous island.
If your trip is curriculum-based, one of our tour managers will be happy to discuss your learning objectives with you. We want your group to achieve the best educational benefits from the tour, no matter how many subjects or topics you wish to cover and of course including the fun element.
